As a Hobby and a Degree Minor I've taken up exploration of a number of different programming languages. I've been Admin/Web Dev for 1st-Terran-Rangers.com, a gaming community, and I've helped set up their website using Enjin, HTML, jQuery, Census API, CSS, Stipe, and Javascript. I've learned C/C++ from my engineering degree and my work with gaming engines Unreal and Source. I've worked in Python during my work with Blender and wrapped the SixenseSDK for use in Python. More languages found in Resumé.
3D artistic modeling and simulations in Blender is one of my hobbies that I will be able to apply to engineering simulations.
Over the summer break of every school year, I've been able to make time to do a crafting project. The summer before my electrical engineering course, I put together a CMoy Pocket Amplifier, teaching myself how to solder and loosely identify electrical components. The summer after, I taught myself basic silicon moulding, using a homebrew I found online of store bought silicon and cornstarch to change it's curing properties. Feel free to ask me about some others I've done.
In both the senior design course and ASME design competition, I was teamed with 2-3 other engineers and given a task to complete. In senior design, we developed a way to move the load put upon our sponsor's feet to remove pain. In ASME student design competition, we developed a means of sorting common types of recycling into bins.
I greatly enjoy tap dancing. I've been tapping for over ten years and it has become my goto activity for when I'm waiting in the elevator.
I also enjoy Cooking and Homebrewing Soda/Beer, which has nothing to do with engineering but is a fact about me nonetheless.
